The actual Ceremony (based on teachings within Metron's cube), from First Light (the Crying out in the Darkness) through the deep initiation of the Implosion of the Light to the Communion Celebration is 13 days. Ancient wisdom was preserved in times of darkness through rhymes, myth and song ("The 12 Days of Christmas"). The number 13 had to remain. There was always something changed just a bit in the public form that was revealed to the initiates and handed down to the bearers of the wisdom.
